A new season starts at Princess Elisabeth Antarctica
A new summer season with a Belgian Antarctic Research expedition
(BELARE) is about to start. On 18 November, Stefania Gili and Preben Van
Overmeiren left from Brussels in order to travel to the Belgian
research station Princess Elisabeth in Antarctica. If weather conditions
allow, they will arrive on 21 November at the station. They will stay
until around 20 December 2019 in Antarctica. On our blog-subpage links
to several blogs can be found where updates on the ongoing expedition
will be posted. You can also follow the general activities at Princess
Elisabeth at the station website. On the Twitter account of Stefania you can also follow their activities.

Video on the CHASE Belare 2018-2019 campaign

Challenging trips to install further sampling sites
Stefania and Preben went last days to further sampling sites in order to recover samples installed last season, exchange them with new ones and in addition, installing another new site near the coast. Installing a sample site at the plateau
Stefania and Preben went last Friday to the plateau in order to collect samples installed last season, install new collectors and go even further to install collectors at a new site.
